As we know Sun represents King, Government, Father, Top Positions, Ego, Authority, Career, Self Esteem etc. Sun is a royal planet of command, position, and truth. It makes a person generally successful and fortunate in life. Surya (Sūrya, Sun सूर्य ) is a symbol of spirit. It is considered as soul of Kaalapursha. Surya is considered as king (a ruler) of all other planets. There’s a theory that Sunday is kept as a holiday almost everywhere so that people are able to worship Surya on Sundays.

But also its related to medical line. According to Varahmihira, Sun has an acknowledged rulership over medical profession. The Sun and Jupiter are two basic planets which give interest and expertise in general in the medical line.
For surgeons, Mars plays an important role, and for a doctor of medicine, Venus plays an important role.
Sun is the sign that indicates the soul, and it shows the ability to cure and giving life to the patients. Sun should be in Scorpio or Sagittarius to become a successful doctor. Sun and Mars should be together in the tenth house in Scorpio sign to become a successful surgeon.
