Yogas, essentially, refer to the combination of the Sun and the Moon when a native is born in a constellation. There are a total of 27 different Yogas based on the twenty seven constellations propounded in Vedic Astrology. The astrological combinations or Niti yogas help decipher the personality traits of an individual like temperament, behavior and other characteristics. The Nitya Yogas are mathematically calculated by adding the longitudes of the Moon and the Sun and dividing the sum by 13 degrees and 20 minutes.

Vyatipata (व्यतिपात), also known as Vyatipat Yog is the 17th Nitya (Naisargika) Yoga, which is ruled by Rudra and considered to be especially malefic one along with Vaidhriti (comparing to other malefic Nitya Yogas all Ghatis of Vyatipata and Vaidhriti are inauspicious for starting something). Its effect can be described as “a portent indicating disaster”, “a great disaster”, “calamity”. Vyatipāta (व्यतिपात). An astronomical phenomenon when the sum of the (true) longitudes of the Sun and the Moon amounts to half a circle (i.e.., 180° or 6 signs).

Vyatipata Yoga

Both Yogas should be shunned in all auspicious elections. According to classical Jyotirvidyabharanam (2/56) any religious activity done during these Yogas do not yield any result in both “lokas”, i.e. it’s completely destroyed. Another classics, Rajmartanda opines that these Yogas along with Bhadra Karana (Vishti) are even capable to destroy even Amrita Yoga. Rahu is a Graha, who’s ruling Vyatipata.

Those people who were born during the Vyatipata Yoga period might face difficulties in life as per Hindu astrology. native born in this yoga may possess best qualities and good. naughty, troublesome, and mischievous child. One born with this yoga will be unstable with respect to his undertakings, be a minister, solicitous (anxious or concerned) in disposition, quarrelsome and a fool in arguments. “Natives with this yoga experience a very problematic child hood. They face many difficulties in their formative (earlier) days of life. Gradually their experiences of life develop a unique quality of transforming sorrows into happiness. They begin to receive happiness and joyous moments in their youth days and finally they achieve success in life.” You display a tendency to spend money in a lavish and extravagant manner. Rigid in nature. Deceptive / Calamitous. Yoga Point Shatbhishak/Rahu.
